SPLIT AREA NATURIST
GUIDE
MAPSplit
Split is the largest
Croatian coastal city (about 200.000 inhabitants)
and represents the ideal launching point for any
Dalmatian island-hopping. Its traffic-free streets
are a living treasure house, and allow you to
walk though history without barriers or museum
curators. The Roman Palace is a where students
promenade under floodlights at night, sitting
in cafes sipping cappuccinos. The site was first
settled when, at the end of the third century
AD, the Roman Emperor Diocletian built
his palace here. The importance of Diocletian's
Palace far transcends local significance
because of its level of preservation and the buildings
of succeeding historical periods built within
its walls, which today form the very heart of
old Split. Diocletian's Palace is listed by UNESCO
as a World Heritage Site.
