Kvarner has an indented coastline, with its
well known fishing vilages, mercantile and marine
towns, famed holiday - making rivieras with an
appealing hinterland containing fertile valleys
and plateaus (Lovran, Opatija, Matulji, Rijeka,
Kastav, Kostrena, Bakar, Kraljevica, Crikvenica,
Selce, Novi Vinodolski, Bribir, Hreljin, Cavle).
Opatija, "the grand dame of Croatian tourism"
is lying 14 km west of Rijeka. It was the most
fashionable seaside resort during the Austro-Hungarian
Empire and many fine hotels, residences and villas
built in that time still give Opatija its glamour
and charm. Today Opatija is the center of Opatijska
Riviera, a stretch of coast with popular holiday
resorts like Icici, Ika, Lovran, Moscenicka Draga.
Moscenicka
Draga is a small seaside resort located 13 km
south of the tourist resort Opatija and is widely
known for its beaches, which are considered to
be the longest and the most beautiful on Opatija
riviera. The place is surrounded by dense vegetation
and has a 2 km pebble beach.

is located in walking distance from Moscenicka
Draga, south of the town center, just under the
narrow car road, after the last restaurant. There
is a staircase leading from the road to the beach.
Crikvenica is situated in the Kvarner Bay, 35
kilometres south from Rijeka. The whole town of
Crikvenica is in fact a riviera with a series
of almost connected tourist places: Selce, Crikvanica,
Dramalj and Jadranovo. The favourable position
of Crikvenica , sheltered from strong winds, more
precisely to the north owing to the slopes of
the mountain Kapela and to the south thanks to
the island of Krk, create the conditions for a
mild, relaxing climate.
Located
near the Dramalj
village (2km from Crikvenica). It is a beautiful
rocky and pebbles beach, near the tourist settlement
Kacjak.
The naturist section of the beach is located right
next to the textile part and you can reach it
using the beach path. Naturist beach has two sections
(both signed "FKK"): concrete and rocky
with some pebbled areas. The best places on the
beach are occupied by other sunbathers from the
early morning, so you need to come early if you'd
like a nice place for yourself. More images of
Kacjak beach here. You can reach Dramalj from Crikvenica by car or
taxi, or take a nice 2km walk along the road.
If you are arriving from Crikvenica by car, in Dramalj turn left toward Kacjak at the intersection where market is located. After 500m unofficial but very beautiful small nudist beaches start. You can park on the left side of the road. If you continue driving you will come to Kacjak FKK official beach located at the small peninsula of Kacjak where there is maintained parking place. A whole peninsula can be walked around in 20 minutes and you can find a perfect place for you.
