Rovinj
At the end of August/beginning of September 2000 we spent our vacation in Croatia in the naturist resort Monsena by Rovinj.

MonsenaThe resort is positioned on a downward slope and it is divided into three parts. One part is reserved for camping, second only for bungalows and the third part for apartments. The water in the sea water pool was changed weekly and the water slide costs unfortunately somewhat extra.

ApartmentsWe had decided for an apartment for three persons. Except for somewhat poor wardrobe closets (there was only one, and that was approx. 1,20 x 1 m large) and small number of hangers, we were very content with the accommodation. Service included the daily cleaning, the daily towel change, the weekly change of the bedlinen and the final purification.

Restaurant in RovinjIn the resort there is a small self-service market, which is sufficient for smaller shopping needs. Further one finds sufficient possibilities to satisfy hunger. The prices in the resort are about the same as the prices outside of the resort. In the evening in the two larger restaurants something was always arranged for entertaining. Directly from the resort several times a day a boat drives to Rovinj, so you can calmly leave your car in the resort.

The beach Beach path
The beachThe beach is rocky and it is very well maintained. You can go walking along the beach path and there are showers in regular intervals. On the other side of the beach path you can make yourself cosy under trees, and enjoy the sea breeze or the nap in the shadow. From the beach one looks directly on the old part of the town of Rovinj.

UrchinsThe water is very clear which makes snorkeling very pleasant. There are many different species of fish, sea-urchins, sea-cucumbers, cancers and so on...
Rovinj surroundings. Nearby Rovinj the town called Porec is situated. Also Pula and Lim Channel are worth visiting. In the countryside Motovun is settled from where you can have a wonderful view on the surroundings.

We have made our reservations for the first time directly on the Internet with Danex Umag from Croatia. Besides favorable prices, we were pleased with the friendliness and the service from Danex.
We have enjoyed Monsena and Croatia so much that we are going back again this year.

Thanks Jürgen Käffer for this report and photos.
