40th Anniversary of Koversada naturist resort

Koversada

Map Koversada

BeforeThe story says that the first naturist visiting Koversada was famous Venetian adventurer Giacomo Casanova who decided to take a break from his exerting journeys on this small islet.
Two hundred years later Rudolf Halbig, German owner of "Miramare" travel agency, searching for a perfect spot along the Adriatic coast where he could invite his friends of nature and unbounded enjoyment of sun and sea, came to Vrsar and found there what he was looking Beforefor. First naturists put up in the village of Vrsar and went to Koversada islet for swimming and sunbathing. As the years were passing by, the islet became too small for increasing number of visitors. In the year of 1965 resort spreaded on the near by shore. In the course of years Koversada grew to one of the largest and and the most popular naturist resorts in Europe.

KoversadaBeachToday Koversada is a modern but naturally preserved naturist resort spreading over the area of 120ha. It is equipped with modern facilities, apartments, bungalows and campground, and can accommodate 7000 naturists where they can enjoy in sunny coves, crystal clear sea and discover primeval and Bananaundisturbed closeness to nature. Many of them are faithful to Koversada more than 30 years. They have good reasons for it. Within the center there are numerous restaurants and snack bars, a pizzeria, two mini-markets and various shops, post office, ambulance and gas filling station, laundry and other amenities. Sports facilities include water sports, table tennis, tennis courts, volleyball and basketball playgrounds. Koversada is rewarded with "The Blue Flag" award. The Blue Flag is a symbol of high environmental standards as well as good sanitary and safety facilities at the beach/marina.

CelebrationsMiss KoversadaIn 2001 Koversada celebrated its 40th anniversary. Celebration was filled with animation, entertainment, concerts, sport competitions, festive dinners and events, exhibitions, performances of Croatian and foreign artists and folklore groups, and traditional popular Miss and Mister Koversada competition.
